of Sardinia. It is
located in the South- East of the island at the heart of the beautiful bay called the Angels’ Bay (Golfo degli Angeli). It was built on seven hills and
its name Casteddu, in Sardinian language means Castle (Castello), is just to indicate

Bastione di Saint Remy is very popular for the beautiful panoramic view of the city and the Amphitheatre, traditionally called Is centu scalas ("One hundred steps"), carved into a block of rock (the typical limestone from which Cagliari is built), and of an aqueduct, used to provide a water in which it is generally scarce. The symbols of Sardinia
flag are four Moors and a red cross. Its origin is a mystery still today. According to the
historical tradition the four heads represent four victories achieved by the Kingdom of Aragon against the invading Moors in 1096.
The red cross represents Saint George’s Cross.
